OUR COMMUNITY

Bikur Cholim  Visiting the sick is referred to in Hebrew as Bikur  Cholim. Visiting the sick is a vital part of Chesed - acts of loving kindness.

The Bikur Cholim Committee visits patients at area hospitals. Shabbat packs containing challah and grape juice are delivered on Fridays.

Education Committee:  The purpose Education Committee is to enables Hebrew School Staff, Rabbi and volunteers to implement their educational goals in a manner consistent with the religious philosophy and guidelines of Beth Shalom.

The committee supports the educational staff and acts as a liaison between parents, staff, students, synagogue and the community.

Parent Teacher Organization: We’re a vibrant group of parents dedicated to creating a rich, spiritual and social experience for our young people at Beth Shalom.

Our mission is to enhance and support children’s religious school experience. Help our children form life-long Jewish friendships.

The PTO sponsors activities like a Purim Carnival, Chanukah Supper Party, Children’s Book Sale, Oneg Shabbats, Crafts, Activities and more!

Visit us and see what we are about. Have creative input for your child’s religious education and participate in fun, family social activities.

Men's Club:  Mens Club provides Beth Shalom with assistance whenever there's important work to be done. Men's Club members serve as ushers at High Holiday Services and construct the Congregation's Sukkah each year.

Ritual Committee: The Ritual Committee works together with  the Rabbi in establishing and maintaining religious programming.  Our  Ritual Committee  welcomes your input regarding religious  life at Beth Shalom.

Sisterhood: We are modern women, keeping close to Judaism, learning traditions,  teachings and laws, yet growing, progressing and inspiring new ideas.

Sisterhood is always there when a family needs help and during a time  of bereavement providing emotional support, food and comfort.

A variety of programs are held on a monthly basis. Sisterhood is a vital part of our synagogue and welcomes all women to get involved.

Social Action Committee: Ongoing social action programs include food drives for area hungry, 911 cell phone distribution, fund drives for those in need as well as partnership programs with outside agencies/organizations  to serve the needs of the greater community.

Youth Groups: Meetings held on 2nd Sunday of each month. Participate with us and make new friends! Our group is open to both members and non-members alike.

Operating Committees and Groups include the Board of Directors, Officers, Finance Committee, Men’s Club Bowling League, Library Committee, Hebrew School PTO, Building & Grounds Committee, Programming Committee, Community Outreach Committee, Membership Committee, Security Committee, and Cemetery Committee.
