Congregation Beth Shalom is a family-oriented, egalitarian Conservative congregation, located in the northern New Jersey suburb of Pompton Lakes. Pompton Lakes is approximately 30 miles northwest of New York City . The CBS family includes the communities of Pompton Plains, Wayne, Kinnelon, Butler, Bloomingdale, Oakland, Ringwood, Lincoln Park, Pequannock, Riverdale, Oak Ridge, Haskell, Bloomingdale, West Milford, Wanaque and others. We represent strong Jewish values, with emphasis on Torah, family, community, and social action. Our synagogue family consists of members with diverse religious backgrounds and varied levels of observance. We have an active Sisterhood, Bowling League, Youth Group, and a vibrant religious organization. Monthly Friday night traditional home- cooked kosher Shabbat dinners, served at our synagogue. We provide an excellent Jewish education through our Hebrew School and Adult Education classes. We have B’nai Mitzvah instruction for children as well as adults. A variety of programs are held on a monthly basis. Sisterhood is a vital part of our synagogue and welcomes all women to get involved. Our Judaica Library is complete with many books of interest. |
